How this test works
You arranged colors around a circle. Here is why that circle can reveal so much.
All colors live on one circle
Line up every hue from red through yellow, green, and blue and back to red, and you get the hue circle shown here. Neighboring caps differ by only a tiny step.
Sorting those caps is easy where your color vision is sharp and genuinely hard where it is not. Two caps that look obviously different to one person can look interchangeable to another.
The finished arrangement is a map of exactly that. Smooth stretches mean fine discrimination, and swapped caps mark the hues your eyes found hardest to separate.
Errors point at the weak region
Every misplaced cap adds points to your Total Error Score. But where the errors happen matters even more than how many there are.
This chart shows the classic signature: two spikes on opposite sides of the circle. Errors piled up like that trace a confusion axis, a red-green pile-up hints one way and a blue-yellow pile-up another.
A small, round shape near the center means few errors everywhere. Scattered bumps with no clear direction usually just mean haste or a difficult screen.
How scoring works
This arrangement test asks you to put nearby hues in a smooth order. Scoring adds up how far caps sit from their neighbors.

You arrange colored caps into a hue order
Caps should progress smoothly around the hue circle. Rushing, glare, or guessing between close neighbors usually raises the error total.
Step 2
Mistakes become a Total Error Score (TES)
Each misplaced neighbor relationship adds to TES. Lower is better. A perfect run is 0. Higher totals mean more disorder on this display.
Step 3
Regional scores show where errors clustered
When available, red-green and blue-yellow region scores (or a polar plot) show whether mistakes piled up on one arc of the circle.

Quick and Full modes use different length and bands
Quick mode uses fewer caps for a shorter screen. Full mode is closer to the clinical cap count. Compare retakes within the same mode.

Perfect or superior
Very low error scores suggest strong hue discrimination on this abbreviated or full online run.
Average
Error scores in a typical range for this task. Small spikes can still appear in one region of the hue circle.
Low discrimination
Elevated error scores and large plot spikes suggest difficulty separating nearby hues in those regions.
Error patterns
Clusters in red-green or blue-yellow regions can hint at confusion axes, but this online test cannot classify deficiency type by itself.
What can change your score
Online color tests run on everyday phones and monitors. These limits apply to every result on this site. Screen hues are not clinical Munsell caps under controlled light, so online TES is for education and same-device comparison.
